A near disaster was avoided – Thanks, Charl and your team!

On Friday afternoon a pipe fitting behind the 17th green burst creating a sinkhole and a flood of water and sand onto the green. When I saw the damage I thought we were in big trouble. At 5h20 Saturday morning, Charl, Danny and the irrigation team were already getting after the problem. I alerted the Pro Shop team to keep the green closed for the day to enable the time needed for repairs to be carried out. Before play began on the 1st and 10th, Charl alerted me saying we were good to go. Amazing. What is more amazing is the fact that we are fine for the tournament.
