Champions!
The Pam Golding Ladies’ Weekend returned to its glory with two days of great golf and entertainment. Ladies’ Captains, Sally Nienaber, Jo-Lo Manthe, and their teams prepared adequately, and the participants were in for a treat! No one enjoyed the weekend more than the winners, Louise Visser and Natascha Garrett. They played well on both courses and finished with 87 points. That means they are off to Champagne Sports Resort for 2 nights of accommodation and a weekend of golf, food and fun! Special thanks go out to Richard Arderne and Pam Golding who have sponsored the event for many years. Hats off to the local businesses who provided special prizes for the weekend and to Phillip West and Champagne Sports for the Grand Prize.
Our friends at Bay Union Insurance also came toil the party once again sponsoring R100 000 for the first eagle on the 5th hole. If the eagle was not achieved, the person closest to the hole qualified for a 20-foot putt-off after the game. Janine Lee was the lucky contestant. Watch!!!

The Corona JBAY Open
The Corona Open J-Bay Stop No. 9 on the World Surf League (WSL) 2022 Championship Tour (CT) will kick off today, July 12, and will continue until July 21.
As the second-to-last stop before the Rip Curl WSL Finals, this competition will be pivotal in the World Title race, as only the Top 5 Men and Top 5 women on the CT rankings will be eligible to compete in the Rip Curl WSL Finals.
Jeffreys Bay is revered as one of the world’s best right-hand point breaks. Supertubes will play host to the world’s best surfers throughout the next 10 days with a promising swell on the way for the first half of the competition window.
The 150th Open Championship
In 2005, I was there at St Andrew’s for Jack’s last walk and Tigger’s 2nd win. I sat in the stands behind the 17th (Road) and near the Swilken Bridge where the great man waved to the crowd for the final time. On the wall in the Pro Shop, I also have a picture of him waving back to me from the 18th green where he made birdie to end it all off. That was an amazing moment for me as I felt blessed to be there at that time and place. Oh, Tigger won the tournament. Below is the picture of Jack and another with him and Tigger on the Bridge this week – Note: Tigger is standing on Jack’s toe – still no respect!
in the 3rd picture is King Louis – winning his Open at St Andrew’s!

Ladies Knockout Champions
Sally Nienaber and Lynn Slogrove defeated Gillian Hammond and her partner, Kay Sadler, in the Ladies’ Knockout. I think the runners-up were F#^ting against thunder as the winners posted 46 points on the day with Lynn shooting 37 on the 2nd nine and Sally blazing the front nine!
