Debbie McCracken wins to Order of Merit

The Ladies’ was determined by the final event of the year. Debbie McCracken got her name on the Honours Board twice, winning the Member-Member and the Ladies’ Invitational (the 2021 version played on Saturday). She edged out Lynn Slogrove for the accolades. Debbie supports the Club in nearly all ladies’ days, as well.

Christopher (Chris) Van Rensburg takes the Men’s Order of Merit

Chris Van Rensburg hit the ground running at St Francis Links proving his golfing skills at every level. He finished 2nd twice in the Club Champs, played in the number 1 position for our league-winning side. He has been a regular winner in our Club Competitions and faired well in the Men’s Member-Member and Men’s Invitational, coming 7th and 5th respectively. Hey, he became a Dad along the way. Hats off to Annette and Skyla for giving him the time!

The Bard’au Ladies’ Invitational

Saturday past we completed the Ladies’ 2021 year sneaking in the Bard’au Ladies’ Invitational. The smallish field was treated to a great day from start to finish – Croissants, coffee and tea on arrival with gifts waiting from Anne Coesens and her very popular, Bard’au; then off to golf under blue skies and a light puff. The puff was soon replaced by some perky conditions.  A Perky day was saved with four varieties of Cape Town gin provided by Cape Town Spirits Company. The gins were very well received – so well that the tasting lasted into dessert with sales to follow. Susan Gray added to the gifts by giving each lady a notebook and pen.

The golf played on the day was competitive from second place down. However, Debbie and her partner, Annamarie won it in a walk by 9 points!

Here’s something FUN!
Using the Par 3 course, within our main, course we ended off the week in true coastal fashion. Now that the ULTIMATE PAR 3 CHALLENGE has a slope rating on HNA we can compete in Medal or Stableford formats.

Stirling Olivier, a member at SFL, is the driving force behind this exciting new monthly event, he is also responsible for showing prospective owners THE St Francis Bay experience.
