We hosted the annual Le Trophee du Coq this Saturday where the guys and gals tee it up against each other! Always a fun event! |
Well done on all the top performances! |
Ronnie holding this stunning Trophy! |
Just out of reach for our Ladies Captain—sorry, Sue, perhaps next year!
This was the biggest Le Trophee du Coq yet, and we hope to build on it every year. We would like to thank all the participants who entered. A special thanks to Sherry Pienaar, who made these impressive gift packs with lipstick and shots on the turn, keeping the “spirits” high. |
Please don’t throw your stompie down anywhere! |
To limit littering on our beautiful course, we have cigarette “butt buckets” available from the golf team. If you’re a smoker and you don’t have one on your golf cart, please feel free to take one for the round and return it to the shop afterwards.
We do, however, encourage all smokers to permanently equip themselves with one, available from suppliers of plastic goods. We ask that you please dispose of your litter in an appropriate fashion. |
We were proud to host the Eastern Cape Nomads this past Sunday. Windy conditions and fast greens kept them busy on the day, but they genuinely enjoyed their experience. On top of that, Sunday marked 30 years since Jeff was inducted as a Nomad, and he received his 30-year tie at prizegiving.
We are sure that 30-year tie will go well with that Nomads honorary membership certificate in your office, Jeff! |

We celebrate Mandela Day! |
|
Our girls in their traditional wear gathered along with Pieter, our Hospitality Manager, to hand over pet food to Susan Rae Fox from St Francis Animal Rescue today, 18 July, when we all celebrate Tata Madiba!
All of the donations, including beautiful jars containing soup mixes, came from our Links residents who opened their hearts on this special day when we are all encouraged to make an impact in our community. Via the St Francis Disaster Volunteer Group, we will ensure that the recipients in our local community of Sea Vista receive the jars of soup mix as well! |

Join us for a brilliant production from St Francis local! |
|

Jeff Brooker grew up in St Francis Bay where his parents, Bruce and Gail are well known locals. We are super proud to host his production on 6 August 2024. |

In “Every Brilliant Thing” by Duncan Macmillan, with Jonny Donahoe, a young boy grapples with the emotional challenges of his mother’s struggle with depression. To help her find hope, he begins compiling a list of everything brilliant in the world. Starting with simple pleasures like ice cream, water fights, and staying up past bedtime to watch TV, to quirky items like old people holding hands. As he matures, so does the list, transforming into a touching testament to the power of positivity in adversity.
This one-man show is brought to life by the excitingly versatile Miguel de Sampaio and unfolds in a democratic, immersive “in-the-round” setting. Audience members are invited to participate in the recitation of items on the list, creating a shared and deeply wholesome experience.
“Every Brilliant Thing” is a testament to the enduring human spirit and the remarkable ability to find joy and hope in unexpected places. Join us for an unforgettable theatrical experience that will leave you inspired, uplifted and maybe, just maybe…a little teary.
“A heart-wrenching, hilarious play… One of the funniest plays you’ll ever see about depression—and possibly one of the funniest plays you’ll ever see, full stop.” – The Guardian
“Filled to the brim with joy…beautiful, heart-wrenching and very funny.” – Time Out London |

The Srixon ZX Mk II Drivers have a unique dualflex zone that acts like a spring within a spring to maximise energy transfer to the ball at impact for faster swing speeds. |
That design and technology also increases the consistency of ball speed you’ll create. You’re going further. Now we need to manage where you’re going. |
The ZX7 MkII is for the golfer with a swing path who has no trouble managing where the face is at impact.
This driver offers a lot of shot-shape workability (especially with the adjustment on offer), but is inclined to deliver a straighter or fade shot shape.
The ZX5 MkII acknowledges that most golfers don’t have total control over the face angle at impact and often have an out-to-in swing path.
This driver will work to straighten fades and even create a gentle draw when set up correctly. |

The transfer of power at impact, converting your swing speed to more ball speed, takes you further off the tee. But we want that to be further down the fairway. A session where we ensure the launch conditions maximise the distance that extra ball speed gives you, will add an extra 15, 20, 25 and more metres. It will also give us the chance to find the perfect setup and best shot shape. |

We’ve introduced you to ‘cover numbers’ and ‘shot dispersion patterns’. Armed with that information, your approach shot planning should now be driven by the reality that all of us hit imperfect shots most of the time. You want to make sure your bad shots leave you ‘OK’.
If you had to mark a section of the green below to indicate where you would never aim to land, which part would it be? |
Your shot dispersion pattern should be applied with a very clear view of the ‘cover number’. But that’s hard because golf course designers know how to seduce you. Learn more.
But that seduction is evil. It’s designed to cause maximum frustration. |
We want you to enjoy yourself. We want you to leave the course with a spring in your step. |
|
|
Can we put more spring in your step? |
Why not challenge us? Come and book a playing lesson and we’ll provide swing advice and technique improvement. But we’ll also provide you insights that will reduce your frustrations with the game and allow you to shoot lower scores. |
