| How many putts do you take per round? It’s an obvious statistic to keep, but we would suggest that you add a little more depth.
a) How many times in the round did you miss from inside 4 feet?
b) How many times in the round, after your first putt, were you outside 3 feet from the hole?
c) What percentage of times from 8 – 12 feet did you make a putt?
There are so many ways to improve your putting. Nothing reduces frustration and increases exhilaration like improved putting. |
| Given what we see, beyond technique and the putter being used, quick improvements can be made on longer putts by thinking about where you don’t want to finish. |
1. Embrace the fact that you will sink far more testing 4 and 5 footers going straight uphill than going downhill or across a slope.
2. It’s obvious that a ball with slowing speed is more vulnerable to the slope. So even on the longest putts, how is the slope in the last feet? |
