The Year in Review!
2022 was definitely NOT a year of recovery; it was a year for new records – home building, golf, weddings, sales, transfers, new members, more young families and plenty of GEES! We are experiencing the happiest times on the Links, with residents enjoying each other’s company and visiting our clubhouse for work, cocktails or company! As we prepare for what we hope will be one of the most exciting years on the estate in 2023, we wish all of you special people the very best and safe festive season. Enjoy a recap below!
Golf played at a record pace (member rounds increasing exponentially)
Rounds played this year were a record 22 764. Member rounds have risen from 6700 pre-Covid to 10 600 this year. The tournament golf played gave us great exposure in the golfing world with fantastic media coverage. The well-run events brought the attention of the Sunshine Tour. The PGA Championship has been extended and the new Sunshine Tour / DP World Tour co-sanctioned event, titled the SDC Championship hosted here in March 2023 will be broadcast worldwide. Our Estate, our community and our region will all benefit from the exposure the area will receive.

Our Member and PGA Professional, Craig West, brings the skills!
Craig West was one of my first Professionals in South Africa. He has now become a world-class teacher in Germany, where he has been for nearly 30 years. Craig purchased a home here on the Links and will be residing here through the summer. He will be a valuable member of our teaching team!
Great Turnout for the Par-3 Championships
80 players competed in our Annual Par-3 Championship over the weekend. To add some spice to the day, we offered a prize of R10 000 to anyone who could hole out the perfect shot. Shaun Viljoen set the official course record with a 4-under par 50 to take the men’s title. Dr Lynn Slogrove walked to her 6th Championship.
