This past week, we hosted Andrew Young again, and he returned with a new show that was better than ever!
We have the facilities to share South Africa’s best entertainment as well as the occasional international artist. Andrew Young could have been performing for thousands in Berlin or Vienna or Paris – he chose to be here in a place he calls his favourite place. What a privilege it was to have him back. Some would say, “Ah, I’ve seen him before” and to that, I would say, “Shame on you”; when we get this kind of talent, embrace it!
It really was a treat. I grew up playing the drums in our high school jazz band, number two drummer, I must add because of Steve Arbuckle, as he is still on stage! So, yes, I appreciate good music and we will continue to work with those who can provide it.
Stuart McLean, the longtime Editor of Golf Digest SA, has launched his new website, South Africa’s Top-100 courses, and you can now see how we rate in all the major categories. Stuart has always led the way when it came to course ratings, developing a panel who plays the majority of courses in their regions, following guidelines that range from playability and shotmaking to conditioning and memorability. You can register and list all the courses you have played, see the breakdown of the current Top-100 and read about them!

We have come through our most testing times with hot weather and load-shedding that has restricted watering as programmed. The rains this week were a Godsend. Care for the course as you play and continue to play READY GOLF.
