Let’s make it an event!
On occasion groups come to play St Francis Links and our members get involved by hosting and playing with them. For the guest, it provides the course knowledge they don’t have as 1st-timers. It also leads to good fun and the establishment of good relationships. Our ladies teamed up last week to host some friends from Mt Edgecombe.
Hi Jeff
Our ladies (missing Avril Laird) who played with the 7 Mt Edgecombe ladies yesterday.
ME Lady Captain also donated a prize to add to your generous sponsorship of 2 magnums of wine.
We each teamed up with a ME where possible as betterball pairs. All agreed it was fun that way and the group all enjoyed the outing.
We will try to get a Links team together to go to KZN to Mt Edgecombe. Those ladies thought it a great idea.
Hope you enjoyed your day at The Bay.
Regards
Sandy
This tour turned out to be a very fun event where the ladies decided to rather play together than against each other. They had so much fun and of course the visiting ladies received some much needed course knowledge.
Here follows some results of the day:
1st – Sally Nienaber – SFL 38 pts
Margie Rigby – Mt Edge
2nd – Sandra Marias – SFL 37pts
Carol Hubert – Mt Edge
3rd – Veronica Bridge – SFL 36pts
Avril Laird – SFL
4th – Denise Perry – SFL 35pts
Sue Cardwell – Mt Edge
Let’s do more of this in the future – who’s in!
More charity for the good of all!
Mark Ward from Seartec in Port Elizabeth hosted the Sharp Golf Day here in Early December. For the 2nd year running, he, on behalf of Sharp. has handed over a check and equipment for the kids at Talhado. Every little bit helps and the folks from Talhado appreciated the kind support.
Dear Mark,
I’m sorry I wasn’t able to meet with you on Friday when you visited our little preschool. On behalf of Talhado Childrens Haven, I would like to say a big thank you to yourself and to Sharp for the kind and generous donations you made. The money raised is graciously received as we do rely mostly on private donations to exist. The microwave will be a welcome addition to our kitchen, which feeds 60 little mouths twice a day. And the teachers are very grateful for their calculators, which are handy tools to have in any classroom!
Thank you so very much for your support! Our school and community appreciates all that you do.
Kind Regards

Ryan Dodds will host you in living colour!
Avalon Golf Estate
Most of you know that Ryan is back in Mauritius, employed by Peter Matkovich, to oversee their investments on the island. He is also the main man running the Afrasia Bank Mauritius Open in May. Ryan’s current project lies near the tea fields in south-central Mauritius. The course is surrounded by living colour -a lot of colour! He sent me some pics that share the views from the course. I was there last year and loved the layout.
