St Francis – what a great place to be!

Some say business was down…others made the most of another holiday season. With economic times affecting discretionary income for many, I heard stories that you couldn’t get on top courses in JHB during the holidays as some many stayed home. Once again, the businesses in St Francis rose to the occasion and did their level best to see that all were catered for the best they could be. If accommodation bookings were down for some, it was probably because private Air B&B was up. Our business heaved on some days but remained constant throughout. No offence to our friends from the North, but for those who seem to spend their lives queueing on roads and restaurants, patience and positivity were sometimes tested. Our town and her people kept its chin up and the weather, that was rough in the second week got better for everyone.

Now we must shift our gears from South Africans to Internationals, we must keep our quality and standards high. To all who provided exceptional service and consistent quality throughout the season, WELL DONE!

Long live St Francis and all we provide and stand for…without a powerful season and the seasonality we experience, many businesses would not survive, employ or maintain what we all enjoy!

This year, we will be seeing more weddings, fewer golfing National events (due to rotation) and more member functions as our member play is the fastest-growing category in golf. We look forward to more sponsored days with the addition of a new partnership between Pam Golding Properties and Village Square SuperSpar. They are two of the biggest supporters of sport and charity in our town and we welcome them to the golfing calendar.
