Driving Range Etiquette Guidelines
We have some serious East wind forecast for the coming days!
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience at the driving range, please adhere to the following etiquette:
Aim Direction: Aim to the right please!
All flags and aiming points are positioned favouring the right side of the range. This is crucial for maintaining safety, especially with strong easterly winds.
Club Restrictions: No Drivers in Strong East Winds
Due to the nature of strong easterly winds, using drivers is prohibited. Errant shots could endanger houses situated to the left of the range.
Member Use Only
The driving range is exclusively for members or golfers who are playing on that day.
Proper Attire: Golfing Attire Required
Golfers should wear appropriate golfing attire while practicing at the range. This promotes a respectful environment and upholds the standards of our facility.
Keep Divot Patterns Tight
When hitting off the grass, it’s important to keep divot patterns tight. This practice ensures that the grass can recover quickly, allowing for extended usage of the driving range.
The golfing gods see everything! PLEASE Do Not Remove Balls
The balls provided at the range are designed to fly between 10% and 20% shorter than standard golf balls. Removing them does not benefit your game or those who wish to practice with ample balls available.

(There is also an unwritten rule in golf that if you remove a ball off the range, the next time you play, you will hit at least 2 balls out of bounds, and two shanks – so let’s keep it clean folks!)

We are disappointed to see how many range balls we still find on our golf course. Please refrain from removing range balls off the range.

Allow us to look after you!
At St Francis Links, we understand that golf is not just a sport – It’s much more important than that!

Whether you’re an experienced golfer or just starting out, having the right equipment and apparel can significantly enhance your game and overall experience on the course.

MAKE TIME
Yes, GOOD SHOTS make it better
Last week we asked: What is most important to you in your golf experience? If you missed it read it now.

Most of you placed your answer in the upper left quadrant. A balance of social (“Fun with Friends”) and the personal playing experience (“Personal Challenge”).

There’s so much fun and banter to have with friends, especially if you’re on the right side of the banter. Great connections and great shots.
Don’t stagnate. Be better.
Getting outside to play golf with friends at this time of the year is critical for your health and well-being. Hitting good shots while out on the course makes it better. Don’t spend all your time by the fire. Make that time on the course pay, by spending time on improvement.
Contact us
Square contact. Ball compressed. An explosive sensation. Ball on its way. High. At the target. Just an amazing feeling of competence and satisfaction.

How many times do you experience these feelings with your approach shots? How many times do you come close to perfection with your irons in a round?

What makes it more likely to happen more often?

Have you discovered the friendly
‘fitting’?
Most us can recall a shot. A #5 iron we didn’t expect to ‘pure’. High, with a steep landing trajectory. On the green and stops. Equipment that is friendly to you makes this so much more likely.
