South Africa’s 5th rated golf course
We are absolutely delighted with the new rankings that came out last week by Stuart McLean https://satop100courses.com. St Francis Links is growing stronger every year thanks to a dedicated team and the support of our members. We are also very proud of St Francis Bay Golf Club, now ranked 85th and Humewood getting back into the top 10 with their number 9 ranking. Can you say Eastern Cape Golf Tour?
We were awarded best new course in 2007 and we have been rated in the top 10 since we entered the rankings, being 1 of only 5 courses that have achieved this. To put our new ranking into perspective, see below the history of our top 10 rankings:
2011 – 10th
2012 – 9th
2014 – 8th
2016 – 7th
2018 – 6th
2021 – 5th We continue to improve as the course evolves.
Our course is exceptionally well conditioned, 5th overall, our greens are rated 2nd best in the country and we rank in the top 10 with tees, fairways and general presentation.
WHY?
Everything starts with a “why?”. We are a destination where you can expect exceptional service along with one of Jack Nicklaus’ best designs. We have a golf course that not only presents well but also plays differently every single day. Since the beginning we have had a developer and board of directors that has the vision required to build and manage a world class estate. We continue to improve because of our ongoing projects, bunkers, tees, green and fairways. The fact is, we have a fantastic team and family mentality between staff and management. We are often asked: “How is it possible that management can get along as well as we do?” It is easy, when you learn from the best you want to be the best. We will continue with our planned projects as we have a holistic approach to the estate to ensure that even non golfers can enjoy this place we call home.
We are in great company
