This year, our Champion, Constantin Unger and runner-up, Pieter Zietsman, both attempted to get their tour cards last month. That didn’t scare our 13-year-old, Shaun Viljoen! Shaun opened with 69 and followed with 74 to finish two off the lead. Constantin, playing off Plus-6, showed his class by coming back from an opening 73, with 68 on Sunday. Pieter Zietsman was steady and nearly holed out on the last to force a playoff. Izzy had all the ladies around the 18th to welcome her in. Her rounds of 78 and 79 were the best ever in Club Champs for the ladies. What impressed me most was the way she rebounded from a messy triple bogey, 7, on the 9th, shooting 38 on the closing nine for the victory.
