Out with the old to make way for the NEW!
I guess you could say it’s the last of the best sellers, but it all needs to go!
Members will have first go on Thursday and the public are most welcome to come to The Links on Friday, Saturday and Sunday – hey, Monday is a holiday; let’s wrap it up on Monday.  Now is the time to shop for Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries or simply, for yourself!
Men’s, Ladies’ and Junior apparel must go! 50% off if you buy one item, 60% off if you buy two items and 70% off if you buy three or more – that means if you spend R600, you only pay R180!  Shoes and golf bags will be on sale, too! 30% off on them!

Practice, Practice Practice
If you read last week’s newsletter, you would have read that “perfect practice makes perfect”
I read an article this week about how pro’s practice different than Ammies. How do you practice? Do you practice?
Keith Simpson, one of our more consistent golfers, practices and practices a lot of short game – because those are the scoring shots. He keeps track of the number of shots he takes from 10 meters off the green to the pin. If that number equates to more than 50% of his score, then his score probably suffered. Look at the chart below and see where the pros put in their effort. Maybe we can all take a page out of their book.

There’s a big difference between how pro and amateur golfers practice
By Luke Kerr-Dineen (Golf Magazine)
SEPTEMBER 11, 2019
The below graphic is anecdotal, based on various interviews with mid-range handicaps and reporting on other players routines, but it’s illustrative of the difference — something GOLF Top 100 Teacher Sean Foley described during our recent interview:
“Golfers go to the range, hit a bunch of 7-irons with no wind and then wonder why they don’t improve on the course,” Foley says. “It’s because they’re not practicing the same skills.”
Using a 50 ball warm-up session as a guideline, average golfers tend to work their way evenly throughout their bag, with a particular focus on mid-irons. Pros, on the other hand, seem to focus far more on wedges and drivers — two of the most important clubs in the bag. They work on hitting lots of different shots with their wedges, and different shot shapes with their driver.
So use the below as a guideline the next time you’re on the range. Focus on your scoring clubs, and maybe hit fewer 7-irons…
