Jerling and De Beer Cruise to victory!
Luke Jerling has played very well here before shooting 65 on a perky day tieing Professional, Lyle Rowe on the same score. I took a picture of the 2 of them on the day to note their achievements. While that may have been social golf, Luke’s performance in the EP champs were truly Championship material.
Over the past two weekends, the best in the Eastern Cape first battled the weather and the each other in the matchplay. The two champions – winners in the 36-hole final – are both coached by the best teacher in the Eastern Cape, Graeme Whale. We have great teachers in our area, but none who are more committed to improving young golfers than Graeme. Luke Jerling has found the great golf that earned him a scholarship at Lamar University in America. Kyle De Beer is one of the most promising young golfers in our area.
In the finals, both Luke and Kyle dominated their opponents, winning 10 and 8 in their 36-hole matches. Maybe it was the Santa burger bonus prize that had them winning fast!

Valentine’s Day and NIGHT!
This year, let’s get into Valentine’s Day on the course and here for dinner. Our Valentine’s Day Mixed will feature prizes for Best dressed and Best Dressed Cart in addition to the prizes for best golf. We have added some special treats to make the day out even more memorable. Following the golf, Chef Jono will unveil his first Valentine’s menu – one that will be tantalize the taste buds! Our favorite, Pete, The Greek will entertain you all evening will music that will get you dancing or singing along! Enter Now!

This was our best year to date in almost every way:
- We finished our 105th home on the estate (51 are permanent residents)
- 14 homes are under construction
- 24 homes are in the planning or application stages
- We turned 10 with nearly R14M in the bank
- Our golf rounds were up by more than 3300 rounds – 17 550 in total

The BMW International Golf Cup – Arabella
Marketing St Francis Links is always part of the plan when I travel! Last week I went to Arabella Hotel and Estate to be the tournament director for the BMW International Golf Cup – the national FINALS. My role is to set up the course for the event, explain the format and rules to the players at the opening function, start the players on the first tee (with words of support that carry a calming verbal pill) and administer the rules as they may occur on the course. The last thing we needed was a ruling that could affect the outcome of the tournament. The 2-day event featured a fun alliance that served as a practice round for the players. in that event, the 3 competitors, 2 men and a lady were paired with the dealer principal from their qualifying area. Team Continental Cars from PE won the Alliance (playing their best golf a day early) and walked away with amazing prizes. The big prizes came in the individual competition the following day where the three winners were booked on flights to Dubai for this year’s international Finals. BMW pulled out all the stops for the participants at a venue worthy of its top-10 billing.
