Easter Weekend at St Francis Links!
The Easter Weekend event was hopping with excitement!

The star of the show? None other than the beloved Easter Bunny herself! With a basket full of goodies and a heart full of cheer, Miss Bunny was ready to spread joy and chocolatey treats to all the little ones.

The day kicked off with an explosion of creativity as kids gathered around tables adorned with colourful paints, glittery stickers, and an array of crafting supplies. Armed with brushes and their wild imaginations, these pint-sized Picassos dove headfirst into decorating their very own Easter eggs.

The Easter Bunny made rounds, distributing delicious chocolate eggs like a pro! It was a delightful sight to see little hands covered in paint clutching onto chocolate treasures!

The Easter Egg hunt was on!
With heaps of excitement, children of all sizes and ages gathered for the much-anticipated Easter Egg Hunt at St Francis Links!

This year, Miss Bunny had outdone herself, hiding colourful eggs all around the putting green.

Little ones dashed across the green, their laughter ringing out like music. Even parents found themselves caught up in the excitement!

We had a few youngsters more excited about chasing the bunny – rather than the actual easter egg. Miss Bunny will need a good 365 days to recover from a very exhausting weekend.

From the Course
Our Bunkers
Not just sand traps – they can sometimes feel like you standing in a trench dodging enemy fire!

Fear not, brave golfer, for we are  here to equip you with some key fundamentals to help you conquer these sandy beasts and emerge victorious.

Fundamentals for Bunker Play – and keeping it neat and tidy on the etiquette side of things!
One of the most requested lessons from our professionals at the St Francis Links: Could you help me get out a bunker!?
Here is a step-by-step guide on surviving these sand traps:
Assess Your Lie: First things first, take a good look at your ball’s position. Is it nestled comfortably in the sand or buried deeper than your last vacation plans? This will determine the shot you will be playing!

Stance and Setup: When you’re ready to tackle that bunker shot, adopt a wider stance for stability. Position your feet slightly apart and dig them into the sand for extra grip. Think of yourself as a mighty tree rooting down against the wind! (That can help around here with our strong winds).

Open Clubface: Open up that clubface like you’re waving hello to an old friend! This will help you slide under the ball rather than hitting it directly. The goal is to make contact with the sand first, allowing the ball to fly high and soft with a cushion of sand beneath it.

Swing Smoothly: Now comes the fun part, swinging! Keep your swing smooth and controlled. Imagine you’re gently brushing away some sand rather than trying to dig a hole for treasure. A nice follow-through will help ensure that your ball gets airborne instead of just plopping back down into its sandy abode.

Follow-Through: Like most things in life – commit and keep on keeping on! Don’t forget about your follow-through! It’s just as important as your backswing.

Make sure to finish high and let that club guide your ball out of the bunker like a gentle breeze lifting a kite into the sky.

Use Golf Rules to your advantage
Now, let’s talk about those handy golf rules that can turn a potential disaster into an opportunity:

Removing Stones: At the Links, you have permission to remove stones from within the bunker before taking your shot. So if you see any pesky pebbles lurking around, feel free to give them a nudge out of your way!

Free Relief for Plugged Lies: As mentioned earlier, if your ball is plugged in grass above the bunker (and not touching the sand) you can take free relief! This means you can drop it without incurring any penalties like finding money in an old coat pocket!

By keeping these fundamentals and rules in mind, you’ll be well-equipped to tackle those challenging bunkers at St Francis Links with confidence and maybe even a little bit of flair!

Last but not least – please rake the Bunkers! Here is a image of a guest that did not do his part to keep things the way they should. Tisk Tisk Tisk!

Better SHORT GAME
A better short game takes the pressure off your approach. What improvements can you make?

Upgrade time?
THE RIGHT START
The face on a driver has improved year after year. And now Ai and modelling allow innovation in face design that promises exceptionally fast ball speeds, tight dispersion, and optimised launch across that face.
The Cleveland HiBore XL Driver now has a face with 19% more face surface than the previous model. That translates into up to 17 extra metres when comparing identical swing speed and attack angle swings on contact away from the sweet spot.
Hence the Cleveland boast that “forgiveness has a whole new shape”. That’s the result of new materials, advanced manufacturing processes, Ai and super-computers assisting design, and rapid prototyping.

Surely we should put all that design and technology together with a proper fitting. After that, you shouldn’t be surprised at the difference it could make to your performance and experience.

TIME TO GET FITTED
How could we deliver you a better golf experience? Take the time to experience the latest technology.  But more importantly, take the time to get fitted.
