Clubhouse Soft Opening – On Time and On Budget!
After exactly six months of transformation, we proudly “moved that shade cloth” and reopened the clubhouse … and the feedback has been nothing short of phenomenal!
Nearly 300 members attended the soft opening on Wednesday evening and were blown away by the changes.
The new Kids Club, now five times larger, includes an outdoor astro-turf play area, an indoor and outdoor jungle gym, and a jumping castle, promising endless joy for young families and visiting grandchildren alike.
Jack’s Bar is already proving to be a favourite among residents, members, and visitors. With cold beer on tap, cocktails and a relaxed after-golf atmosphere, the bar also features expansive views, generous seating, and massive televisions, including two portable 100-inch screens ready to broadcast The Open and the Springbok test match this weekend.
Adding to the appeal is a dedicated barista bar offering smoothies, shakes and freshly baked treats. Once the large acoustic stacker door is installed, this venue will also serve as a flexible function space, ideal for a range of events, from small gatherings to weddings.
The newly relocated Community Association (HOA) and Accounts offices have been designed for improved efficiency and accessibility, enhancing service delivery for our residents.

During the opening, the professional project team, including Bruce Douglas (Architect), Brad Rosser (QS and Principal Agent), Rennasance Construction and all subcontractors received high praise. We’re proud that all work was kept local, including contributions from Vantage Joinery, Scribbels Interiors, and Cinema Synergy.

A special thanks goes to Liezl Clause, who led the project on behalf of the management team, as well as Kevern Burger and Eugenie Burger. Their commitment, along with the combined efforts of all involved (including Charl and Chris on the landscaping side), resulted in sophisticated, welcoming and functional new spaces, all thoughtfully designed to showcase our magnificent 180-degree views.

Most of all, we thank our property owners for your patience, understanding and unwavering support throughout this journey.

This is your clubhouse. Welcome home!

The photos offer just a glimpse, but to fully appreciate the transformation, we invite you to come experience it in person!

Ladies Trip to Hankey
Our lovely ladies of St Francis Links made a trip up to Hankey!

We are so pleased to see the constant growth, participation and drive for the ladies to keep improving and participating in the game we love so much.

A big thank you to Sue Cogswell and her team that made this trip possible

Hollowtining Closure – Other Golf Options in August
Our amazing course maintenance team will be taking on the task of hollowtining and reseeding from the 18th to the 31st of August 2025.

This means, sadly, that the course will be closed during this period. We know, we know, it’s a tragedy of epic proportions! But fear not, golf enthusiasts, because we’ve cooked up some delightful alternatives to ease the pain of losing our beloved course for this very worthy (and necessary) cause.

We’ve arranged some away golf trips and reciprocity with surrounding courses to keep your swing in tip-top shape.

Nazeem will be hosting a group of 20 to play at Wedgewood on Thursday, 21 August, teeing off from 08h30.

Carel will be hosting a group of 20 to play at Pezula on Wednesday, 27 August, teeing off from 10h00.

If you’re interested in joining any of these adventures, please email proshop@Stfrancislinks.com.

And, to keep your game sharp during the course closure, we’ll be keeping the range open from the 20th August 2025 throughout the course closure period (except for 18th and 19th August).

We have also secured improved rates over this period, at St Francis Bay, Humewood, Knysna and Goose Valley.

Should you be interested in playing at any of these courses, please inform us by sending an email to pro@stfrancislinks.com, and we will secure that booking for you.

Le Trophee Du Coq… The Men vs the Ladies
… always one for the memory books!
26 July 2025
Get ready for one of the most anticipated events of the year: Le Trophée du Coq, where the battle of the sexes takes centre stage! It’s a betterball stableford competition with 85% Handicap Conversion.

The defending champions, our gallant Gents, are sure to remind everyone that they are the proud carriers of the trophy. With their competitive spirit and a few cheeky tactics up their sleeves, they’ll be looking to defend their title against a fierce challenge from the ladies.

But don’t underestimate our formidable ladies! They have some tricks planned to throw off their opponents’ game. Rumour has it that lipstick may become part of their strategy! Yes – you heard that right! If any gentleman dares to leave a putt short, he might just find himself sporting a look reminiscent of Marilyn Monroe. So gentlemen, take heed: no putt left short can go in if you want to avoid an unexpected makeover!

After all the excitement on the course, the hospitality team will have some light meals and drinks promotions available for you to enjoy.

Results – Well done to our winners!

Solving the time challenge
Raising children is one of the most rewarding parts of life. But it does take lots of time and energy, and often, that means less time for golf. But what if your children loved the game as much as you do?
Double the enjoyment you get from the game by getting your child into golf. You could spend hours of quality time with your loved ones, while also keeping your swing in shape.
Once we’ve set the learning foundation, we move into the ‘play to improve’ phase of our junior coaching approach. It’s usually between the ages of 13 and 15 years that we start to shift the focus towards shot-making and performance.
You can have it all
By getting your child into golf, you’ll be able to spend more time at the course while having a new shared passion.
Bring your child
By only milling the parts of the putter head that have an impact on your putting performance, Cleveland has created a high-performing milled putter without the usual high milled price tag. The new Cleveland HB Soft Milled Putter.
