Woodlands Dairy Days bring it!

 Woodlands sm
Great pics taken both days by Impact Photography in Humansdorp!

Sister Ingrid and her team from HOSPICE were all smiles as we handed over a check for R420 000-00 from Woodlands Dairy and friends who all contributed to the most successful charity event held here ever! Two days of golf, one with some welcomed rain, two prizegivings, two eventful auctions and more than 200 participants who went away knowing they had all made a difference! For 10 years we have hosted the event here at St Francis Links and for 10 years we have increased the amount raised. HOSPICE gets less and less every year from government and gives more and more each year to those who need their assistance. We, at St Francis Links, are proud to be associated with this great fundraiser and also happy to be “giving” what we can. In need of a special auction item, I put a call into Lorinda, the owner of our Aqua Spa, who generously agreed to boost a special prize with vouchers for spa treatments – the vouchers for golf, spa, chef’s demo and chef’s table generated R45 000-00 (because I sold it to the first and second bidder at R23k and 22K, respectively) …all in a good two days work!

Donations to St Francis HOSPICE (Kouga) are welcomed. Contact Jennifer on 042 291 1159 (be a hero).

 Bridge Tournament

from Geoff Ellis and
St. Francis Bay Bridge Club

Jeff and all the Staff,
St Francis Links.
A big THANK YOU to you all for the effort you put in to make our Annual Tournament a huge success.
You had a very busy week, but the staff remained cheerful and efficient.
We have had a flood of compliments for the excellent food and service you provided over the weekend. It was nothing short of amazing, and thoroughly appreciated by us all.
We are priviledged to have the use of your venue.
With best wishes from us all at the Bridge Club.

Geoff

From the wedding celebration…
from Beth Cooper-Howell

Dear Liezl, Shaheedah, Chantelle, Eugenie and team
To say that we were WOWED on Saturday by your Royal Wedding event is an understatement. To say that we were SHOO-WOWED and utterly blown away by what you did is probably closer to the truth! When I decided to surprise my friend Sally with an early birthday present ‘experience’ – a spot at the Links to watch the wedding – I had no idea that it would be as beautifully detailed and as full of spoils as it was. From the cutesy popcorn holders and personalised water bottles, to the Oprah Winfrey-Liezl moment, when vouchers came *flying* through the air for all the guests – who had ALREADY been spoiled way beyond their R100 tickets – it was way beyond expectation and an absolute blast. Thanks to the incredible F&B team who, as always, served us so graciously, and put on a spread that left me a gazillion kilograms heavier and addicted to chocolate scones! Chef deserved a Foodie Oscar for his high tea – we all wished that we had brought tupperware to beg extras to take home for supper (and second-supper, and midnight snacks, and breakfast…). Our beautiful, hardworking waitresses were on hand, as always, to make every guest feel like a million-dollar princess. How they retain their poise and serenity and positive vibe when being pulled in so many directions at once just amazes me.
You made my friend’s pre-birthday surprise a lifelong memory and highlight. Given that she’s emigrating in two months’ time, the fact that I was able to give her this experience at the Links, with all of you, makes it even more special.
THANK-YOU TEAM TERRIFIC!
Warm wishes
Beth x

From Woodlands Dairy
Dear Jeff, Tinus and Eugenie

A big thank from me and Woodlands Dairy, to you and each and every one of your staff members who made our event such a great success. We were well looked after and assisted from the moment we stepped in on Wednesday afternoon until we left the venue on Friday evening. A special thank you to Jeff! I was amazed by what you achieved during the auction on Friday evening. Keep up the good work.

PJ and Tigger WOW the full house!

PJ sm

Mission accomplished as we hosted our first show sponsored by Michael Kimmings and Rock Lily Productions! She was in top form and played on and on! What I thought made the show was how engaging she was with the audience. PJ and an acoustic guitar (Tigger Reunert) were perfect. Ann Jangle opened the show and from that point on, it was all good. The guests booked through Quicket and then ordered their tables through our team here at The Links. We offered a casual menu and nearly everyone ordered! The atmosphere was good, the music was great and we will improve going forward on what came off as a good start. Chris Scott Photography was on hand to take pictures – check out Chris’ FB page to see more

Next up on Father’s Day (June 17) – the legendary Andrew Young returns for a very Saxy Sunday!
Now that is worth a little “Sunday Best” – bring the kids – playground and movies in the conference centre (with
sitters”) for them! Same procedure – Quiket and then tables through us!
