Cobra Dark Speed Clubs – Ideal Rental Set for you! |
Introduction to Cobra Dark Speed Clubs |
The Cobra Dark Speed clubs represent a significant advancement in golf technology, designed to enhance performance through innovative engineering and materials. These clubs are particularly suitable for rental sets due to their versatility, ease of use, and advanced features that cater to a wide range of golfers. |
Key Features of the Cobra Dark Speed Clubs |
- Hybrid and Iron Combination: This combination allows golfers to experience both the distance potential of hybrids and the precision control of irons.
- Hollow Body Construction: The hollow body design in each iron improves weight distribution, providing an unsupported face that maximizes distance potential. This feature is beneficial for golfers of all skill levels, making it easier for beginners to achieve better results.
- Powerful Ball Speed and Distance: The larger PWRSHELL insert enhances launch off the face, while the refined PWR-BRIDGE weight encourages body flexion for faster ball speed. This technology helps golfers hit longer shots with greater accuracy.
- Tuned Acoustics and Feel: The internal cavity filled with soft polymer dampens vibrations, resulting in exceptional sound and feel at impact. This aspect is crucial for rental clubs as it enhances the overall golfing experience.
- Extreme Accuracy: The updated H.O.T. Face design provides efficient speed and spin with a larger sweet spot, allowing golfers more opportunities to make successful shots towards the pin.
- Graphite Shafts Options: The inclusion of KBS shafts offers lighter weight options that provide excellent dispersion and control making them ideal for a diverse range of players.
|
Travel Lightly – The rental sets cost R600 for 18 holes – which is a lot cheaper than flying your clubs down!
Speak to one of the professionals and we will match you with the perfect set. |

Understanding the Importance of Fixing Pitch Marks and Divots.
When playing golf, maintaining the condition of our course is essential not only for your own game but also for the enjoyment of other players. We have two common forms of damage on our beautiful golf course: pitch marks and divots. |
What Are Pitch Marks and Divots? |
- Pitch Marks: These are indentations/ impressions left on the green when a ball lands after being struck. They can disrupt the smooth surface of the putting green, affecting subsequent putts and cause lasting damage to the putting/playing surface.
- Divots: These are chunks of grass that are displaced when a player strikes the ball from the fairway or rough. Leaving divots unaddressed can lead to uneven playing conditions and hinder growth in those areas – We have stunning fairways here, and lets keep them like that!
|
Why should you do your part? |
- Course Maintenance: Repairing pitch marks and divots helps maintain the quality of the golf course. This ensures that all players have a fair chance at a good game without being hindered by poor conditions.
- Player Etiquette: Fixing your own pitch marks and replacing or repairing divots is considered standard etiquette in golf. It shows respect for fellow golfers and contributes to a positive golfing environment.
|
How to Properly Repair Pitch Marks: |
- Use a pitch mark repair tool or a similar object.
- Insert the tool into the edge of the pitch mark.
- Gently push the soil towards the center of the mark without lifting it up too much.
- Tap down lightly with your foot to level it out.
|
How to Properly Handle Divots: |
Use Divot mix provided by us – Ask the golf team and we will gladly assist with a Sand bag filled with the necessary soil.
In summary, fixing pitch marks and full divots is an essential part of responsible golfing practice that benefits everyone on the course. By taking these small steps, you contribute significantly to maintaining our high standards at St Francis Links. |
Please take note of the following changes to medal events |
A Division – (6.8 and lower handicap index): Must play off the white tee boxes.
B Division – (Between 6.9 and 14.0 handicap index): Must play off the blue tee boxes
If you are 14.1 and above – You will play in the Individual Stableford Competition. You can opt into any tee box when playing in the Individual Stableford platform.Golfers are always able to opt into the Individual Stableford platform (Before teeing off) irrespective of their handicap.
Golfers can always move into a better division – and play within that specific platform. Example: a 9.1 handicap can play in the A division, but then needs to play off the white tee boxes and adjust their handicap to fall within that division’s parameters (Handicap will drop to a 6.8 in this scenario).
This scoring platform is aimed at the well supported ECOTECT Medal & IPS event – for a fair and even playing field within the divisions.
As well as in aiding with the transition towards Score Capture as the official scoring platform soon.
If you need any further information – please call the Golf Shop and ask to speak to one of the Professionals.
Kind regards,

Two simple questions: The image below shows the distance dispersion most golfers have with their mid (#5, #6, and #7) irons vs the perfect shot. |
Even for the best golfers, perfection of contact is rarely found. But, knowing that, does it change your shot selection? We don’t think it does. We wonder why not. |
|
|
You can help us understand that curiosity by answering one simple question. What is most important to you. |
|
A big part of the 10-shot difference between an 18 and 8 handicapper is in the shot selection on the course. Have you ever experienced a playing lesson designed to take shots off your scorecard before any technique improvement? |
|
|
Srixon has taken their unique approach to energy transfer at impact and refined it even further, helping you add distance and power to all your metalwood shots. Introducing the next generation ZX; the new Srixon ZX Mk II. |
|
|
|
What differentiates an 18-handicap golfer and a scratch golfer? What stops you from breaking through the next level? Are you set up to get below 85, or 80, or 75? |
Research conducted by Golf Monthly using the millions of data points acquired from Arccos Smart Sensors, reveals that closing the gap to scratch becomes a whole lot easier if you focus on just 4 areas.
There is one large point of difference on the scorecard (besides the final gross number): |
Don’t dismiss this as “BETTER TECHNIQUE”. Scratch golfers have better game management. They work to avoid the chance of a double bogey.
If you haven’t seen it, read our game management insights now. |
Set a 90-day improvement target. How low could you go? How many shots do you think you could take off your scorecard? |
|
|
is a great starting point to identify exactly |
|
what areas of your swing, if improved, would give you the biggest improvement in experience and score.
Want to see how you could think your way to removing double bogeys? |
Start keeping a record of the number of double bogeys each round and try to chip away at that number. |
